Ayse Akyildiz

Ayse Akyildiz is a Ph.D. student of Rural Sociology and a graduate research assistant in the Department of Agricultural Economics, Sociology, and Education at the Pennsylvania State University. She is interested in investigating the effects of climate change on the wellbeing, livelihood, and migration of vulnerable communities in Arctic regions using qualitative and quantitative methods. She received her master's degree as a Fulbright grantee from the Pennsylvania State University in Recreation, Park, and Tourism Management with a thesis on emergency evacuation planning in national parks using agent-based transportation modeling.
